Taper roller bearings have conical tracks, both on inner and outside rings. They are able to support axial and radial weights all together in the same direction: in this way they can reach very high load capacity.
PFQ spherical roller thrust bearings are designed so that the load is transferred from one ring to the other at a specific angle to the bearing axis. This feature allows them to handle both axial and radial loads simultaneously. Due to their ability to orientate, these bearings are not affected by shaft deflections or possible misalignment relative to the housing. On the other hand, PFQ self-aligning thrust ball bearings are suitable for withstand very high axial loads and operate at high speeds. With a structure composed of numerous asymmetrical rollers, the design of the raceways guarantees excellent oscillation.
