Thrust ball bearings are suitable for bearing axial loads in one direction and for constraining the shaft on one side. The bearings are decomposable and their assembly is simple.
SINGLE-ACTING AXIAL BALL BEARINGS
Thrust ball bearings of the PF Quality line are designed to support loads applied in one direction and to fix the shaft on one side. They are not suitable for supporting radial loads.
These bearings consist of a shaft locating washer with a grooved raceway, a cage containing the balls and a housing (or outer) washer, which also has a grooved raceway. The housing locating washer can have a flat or spherical surface, depending on the specific requirements. The various elements can be assembled separately as the bearings can be dismantled and are easy to assemble.
DOUBLE-ACTING AXIAL BALL BEARINGS
Double-acting thrust ball bearings have the ability to support axial loads from both directions by constraining the shaft in the axial direction, but are not designed for radial loads. Their design includes one shaft locating washer, two housing washers and two ball cage units. These bearings are also easily dismantled and simplify assembly and disassembly.
PF Quality double-acting axial ball bearings can also compensate for axial misalignment by using swivel plates, which are not supplied with the bearing. The housing washers and cage-ball units used are the same as those used in single-acting bearings.
